Brief info
Ron Ruybal is the Public Education Coordinator at New Mexico Donor Services and state lead for Donate Life New Mexico. He serves as Hospital Services Liaison on public relations and hospital events like Donate Life Month, Rose Ceremony, awards and walks of honor.
He builds relationships with media, legislators, and civic organizations; and manages a statewide volunteer network. Recruits, trains, coordinates volunteers to represent the organization at various speaking engagements, booths, community and special events. He develops and implements outreach campaigns promoting registry and recruiting volunteers in dialysis clinics and tribal lands. He currently serves on the Association of Multicultural Affairs in Transplantation's Hispanic/Latino and Native American Workgroups.
Ron became a living donor in 2006 when he donated a kidney to his mother, giving her another 13 years of life. Ron has a history of generosity: being a mentor/Big Brother for 27 years and over 18 years of experience working in then non-profit arena with Big Brothers Big Sisters and Boys and Girls Clubs. Ron received a Bachelor of Arts with an emphasis on Athletic Training from Fort Lewis College
